Fresh H1B after completion of previous one for 5yrs

Fresh H1B after completion of previous one for 5yrs...

I got my first visa in '98 and workded in usa for more than 5 yrs. Took one year break. Now, am I eligible for fresh visa on new slot of 6yrs OR do they calculate and issue for remaining one year in the previous slot. My company applying new H1B and planing to get stamped in Chennai.

Please throw some light in this regard.

If you have stayed out of the country for more than 365 days then you can apply for a fresh H1-B( for the next 6 years of drudgery ). You should not have any problems regarding the old H1-B.

what happens to SSN

Can old SSN be used on entering on fresh H1? or will it be an new SSN....which makes life start all over again with credit history nonsense!!!

SS numbers are good for life.
