My H1 expired in Feb 2004. (after 7 years) However I was out of the country on deputation for 1 year. My company applied for a fresh H1 for me.
Do I need to maintain valid H1 or EAD status for the entire time that my AOS is pending? Or are small gaps acceptable?
Meanwhile my AOS also got approved. I intend to travel to the U.S. in the first week of october. I would like to know if anyone is aware of the information available to the immigration officer at point of entry. If I were to enter the U.S. on my H1 will he know that my AOS has been approved?
