FREs for I485 right after approving I140. Suggestions?

After approving my I140, the message for my and my wife's I485s changed to indicate that we've got RFEs.
Any idea what can be the RFEs for I485 both for me and my wife? I filled out everything fine. Medical should be OK. Fingerprints should be valid for another month. Would appreciate your suggestions.

Also, I read in this forum that there can be an RFE for medical. But what can be wrong with medical exam?

I140/I485 RD 8/28/2003
I140 AD 2/16/2005
I485 FRE 2/16/2005

hi comp_chem,
It could be anything medical/marriage/birth certificate. When did you do your medical? I think it has got a validity of around 15 months. Anyone, correct me if i am wrong. One good thing is your I485 may be approved once you reply to your RFE. RFE is an indication that they are working on your case. What is your EB and PD?

thanks

Should see approval soon after receipt of RFE

Guys,

Most cases get approved shortly after the reply to the RFE is received by TSC. Needless to say, the offier has to be satisified with the reply. An RFE on a case is a sure sign that an officer is working on the case and that is always a good thing.

My medical was done in July 2003. So, it is like 19 months ago. Should I redo medical completely??
My category is EB1b (outstanding professor or researcher). Thus, no PD.

As for the officer working on my case...it is interesting, because the RFE was issued 1-2 minutes (on both my and my wife's I485s) after approving I140. Either the officer reviewed the I485s before approving I140, or the status update online is not in real time.

I would wait for the RFE

comp_chem,

Wait till your lawyer gets the RFE and then take action. If its a medical RFE then you might have to redo it. It might not be a medical RFE. They might want another copy of the marriage cert or birth cert.

I'll wait for the RFE. I did not use any lawers, so I will get it.
By the way, medical should not expire in 15 months. This is for fingerprints. My coworker just got his I485 approved with no RFE for medical even though he applied almost 3 years ago (when concurrent filing didn't exist).

As for PD, once again I don't have one as my category is EB1.

Thanks to everybody.

just photos

Got the RFE last Saturday. It was just photos. Strangely, it said to send 2 photos ADIT style. However, ADIT style is abandoned now in favor of passport style. Besides, we sent ADIT style photos with original submission. Anyway, will send both types.

What the heck are they thinking??? "one ear" is coming back?

I hope not. I think it was just a standard line for many years and it takes some time for officers to get used to a new format. I guess it was just a typo.
