has happened. Before freeze they were approving Sept/Oct and after a month they are still moving around Aug/Sept. I don't see any significant move. Now they are 16-20 months per case turn around time. 50% slower than once they kept the target of approving in a year or nine months!

Thats Not Quite Fair.

According to my records. The 'freeze' started the week of 11/25 and lasted until the week of 1/27. Since the 'freeze' was lifted we have seen 160 approvals in Rupnet. The real reason why we have not seen much progress to date is the large number of cases in the June - November 2001 period. The reason for this is that in June 2001 priority dates became current for all countries. This caused a flood of I-485 filings. In Rupnet we can see that there are 1084 cases in this 6 month period, compared to 1348 for the full year and 482 cases for all of 2002. From everything that I can see, they are getting through these cases. It looks as though they will not move into 2002 cases for about another 8 weeks, but once they are there (assuming that they don't change the rules again or reduce there resources allocated), they will chew through these pretty quickly.
