I read on the latest instructions for I-131 that if you had already filed for Adjustment of Status but have not been approved yet you do not need to pay the fee for the Advance Parole application. This is as of 7/30/2007. Is my understanding correct?
 
True if you filed on or after 7/30 and paid the new $1010 fee to file I485. Note that people who could file after reinstatement of July visa bulletin (famously called the July fiasco) and paid the old fee, don't qualify even if they filed after 7/30.

In simple words, if you paid $395 for I485, addition fee has to be paid for I-131 and I765 and everytime they are renewed. and if you paid $1010, I-131 and I-75 - and their renewals - come free.
 
Thanks. One more question. Does one still need to file the I-131 if you are in conditional status or is the conditional green card enough to get you back into the country?
