My case is approaching the 18 months limit. No sign the INS will be in trouble because of that and no sign I will be approved before 2004.

Buddy what state are you in, have you tried writing to the Local Congresman, State Senators, Township Mayor and Governor.

In fact for most of them you can do it online, let me know what State, City and County and I will post the Relative links for you.

Wish your ordeal gets over soon.

Thanks for your help but I highly doubt that a congressman will have the time and energy to help a non-us citizen especially when it comes to INS and especially after sept 11. Anyhow, I can't vote till 5 years if I get greencard now. I'm from Massachusetts.
 
I think you are wrong in assuming that the Congresman will not help you, In my parents case our Congresman went out of his way to resolve the problem.

Politics here is not an Individual game, its a Party Issue, so you may not be able to vote for him right now, but 5 years down the road you can vote for HIS PARTY. Thats how they look at it. Anyways even if it dosent help, there is no harm in trying.
