Got my FP2 notice for Newark, NJ in April with appointment scheduled for June 4. By that time, I had already decided to change employer and move to Michigan, so there was no way I could goto Newark on June 4.
I went to the Newark ASC in April while I was still in NJ to try and get an early FP done, but the guy at the front desk upstairs refused and told me to go to the nearest ASC wherever I am moving, but only on the specified date and time. After I moved to Michigan in May, I called NCSC number to update my address and asked them what I should do with my FP2 notice. The lady asked me to fill out the bottom portion of the notice and return it to USCIS with a request for rescheduling the appointment in Detroit ASC.
I thought this would cause further delays, so decided to take a chance and went to the Detroit ASC today with the same notice for self and spouse. The lady at the counter at first didnt even look at the location and gave us a token to wait in the hall. I then told her that I am scheduled for NJ but since I have moved to MI, they asked me to come here. She said thats fine.
The whole process took about an hour and a half and the lady who took finger prints also updated my address in the system, as the computer was showing my old NJ address.
