FP woes and AOS progress tracking...

Facts and background...

1. We (me and my wife) received my FP notice On Apr. 29, 2002.
2. FP was scheduled for June 3, 2002.
3. The AVM said that the FP notice was sent to us on May 02, 2002. [then how did I receive it on Apr. 29? - refer to 1 above]
4. We went for FP on June 03, as scheduled. They gave the indicating that FP was done for me and my wife.

5. We received another FP notice dated some time in May End. The notice did not have anything which meant that "we should disregard the notice if the FP has already been conducted" - where as the first notice did have that statement.
6. The address in the second notice (where we were supposed to go for FP) was different from that in the first notice (where we actually wend and gave FP)!

What we did....

1. I asked my Lawyer - according to him, things are fine and they do sometime send the notice multiple times. [In that case, why should the notice not indicate that we may disregard if FP done already - where as the first one does say that].
2. We also inquired from the place that was stated in second FP notice (by physically going there with our confirmation that we have already given our FP). We were told that we don't need to worry and our FP is already there with them and we may disregard the second notice. [The person took the confirmation and checked something before stating that].

But still...

1. The AVM still states that the FP notice was sent to us on May 02, 2002. [Why so long to update that status - Could we assume that it is just the status update issue and that FP is quite OK and secured with them?]
2. We are confused as to whether everything is allright?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Please!

On the same boat ...

I'm on the similar boat ... my FP was done on Apr 29th but the AVM still says that a notice was sent to you on March 22nd .....

I didn't receive 2nd notice though.

My lawyer checked with INS they say that FP has not been received by them from local office as yet. They also say that it is usual to take this much amount of time. No need to panic ....

I guess you should ask your lawyer to call INS and find out.
