FP with valid I94, but expired h-1 VISA stamp on passport

I have a FP on May 25, 2004 at INS Dallas.
I have a valid I94 based on employement. However, the H1 visa on passport has expired and the only way I can renew it is to go out of the country to revalidate it (since it has expired for more than the defined period of time).
- Can I still go for FP with this valid I94 and expired H1B stamp?
- Do they check for the validity of this stamp?
- If I am asked as to if the I94 is valid, do I have to take current employment letters? (Anyone can take a I94 from an earlier employer!)

**** Yes you can go for FP, no problem as long as you have valid I94

*** No they donot check for the stamp, even if it is expired your I94 is Good

*** yes it is always safe to carry all the documents.

I beleive They will not ask you all the above, all they need is the FP notice and a valid Photo ID. If you have your drivers lic. that should be sufficient. make sure your drivers lic has the current address on it.
