Gurus,

Does any one know what is the FP Schedule? How often USCIS sends the FP notice?
What happens if you are out of country if FP Comes? I remember of reading on FP notice that if you dont appear for FP, your 485 is considered abandoned.
Is that true?

No, there is no fixed schedule and I smile at your naivette in asking for predictability from the USCIS.

However, yes, the FP notice does say that if you don't appear for the FP then your I-485 application is considered abandoned. That seems a little draconian and I haven't seen any posts about anyone having the I-485 being denied on these grounds, though.

A sensible thing to do if you need to travel out of the country is to have a RELIABLE friend/neighbor check your mail for anything that comes from USCIS/Dept of homeland security and either call you or mail you about it so that you can reschedule the appointment for when you're back.

The FP notice gives you the option to reschedule the appointment if you're not available for the original date.
