FP seems to be the key

As per the Mar 2004 memo UCIS will concurently adjucate the I-140/I-485.

for all of us with approved I-140's and 485 pending > 180 days, FP seems to be the key. once we have FP done we are all clear to get 485 approval. may be this is the reason they stopped issuing FP notices. ;)

last time I noticed folks with May 2003 ND got their FP notice. any takers for this theory!

Thanks.

name checks etc...

Hi,
I would like to know what goes into a name check and how long it is valid for. I assume the name check is done on the I-140 first. based on my account, the name check must have been done on dec. 17, 2002, 1 month after the reception of my I-485 (NOv 19.2003). The I-485 was touched on Feb. 17, 2003, 5 days after FP done on feb 12, 2003.
I heard that a name check is valid for 1 or 2 months and need to be updated if expired by the time the application is revisited again. Anyhow, this is the only way I can explain that my I-140 is still awaiting consideration.

On April 23, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.

Come April 30th, I hope they aprove my case concurrently. Gurus any comment.
