FP reschedule - Help Please

Trust BCIS to be unpredictable. I rcvd my FP notice for Sep 11 on 27 August or so. Today I rcvd spouse notice for appearing on the same day. This is in Brooklyn Queens.

The catch is she is out of the country and reaching on the 19th September. The notice asks me to mail the notice back for rescheduling. My point is that not even the fastest mail can ensure it reaches them back by tomorrow.

Can a reschedule for these appointments be done by phone and if so what would the number be. Is it better for the lawyer to call. Has anyone done it for Brooklyn Queens.

Pls let me know.

Thanks,

Yeppo

I am in very similar position are you are in, but i see the FB send is different in each place (mine is CA).

Mine and my wife's FB clearly states that if we miss the current appointment, we can attend any wed from now till 11/20/04. (CA)

I have done my FB yesterday and i asked them about the same thing, that my wife is in India and she will come later, They said "Its Ok" if before 11/20/04 and no need to reschedule.

This tells the FB send are different for different places.

You can tell them you just got it(later when you are ready).

You can try telling them you received it just now(after your wife comes back). It seems some people had luck going later than the scheduled date.

Thanks for the Input satish but I think I may just mail it in and ask atty. to call because I dont want to take chances..

I think they may not answer as I think the person whose FP they are postponing needs to be on the line at that time. So even if I wait till 1 hr to get a rep. it may be a waste.

Guys,

Just wanted to post latest update.

Called up 1-800 no and was told that reschedule will not be done via the phone even if person concerned or atty called.

I went to the post office and posted the notice back asking for reschedule sending it by certified mail A/D.

My lawyer has yet to rcv the copy. She will send it to me when she gets it and I will give that too a try anyway after wife returns.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to respond to my query.

Nowadays when I get an Immi. problem I first turn to the forum even before I talk to my lawyer.

Rgds,

Yeppo
