Experts,

I've just done my FP in Dallas. My wife(dependent)'s FP appt is next week. Since she is currently working in California, could she do her FP in California? This would be a big deal for us since she is in her late preganancy and has certain travel restrictions.

I was told by the receptionist in ASC(Dallas) that she could do her FP in California although the FP letter was issued in ASC(Dallas). Even if this is true, I'm still concerned that FBI may send the FP results back CSC rather than TSC.

Any suggestion?

One of my friend just did the same. They recently moved from OR to TX but FP schedule was for OR. They went to the nearby INS office and did their FP without any problem. So you should be fine.

Don't bother calling the 1800# and asking...
Just show up at ASC and request the FP...
it is a national system....should be no problems..

Thanks, all!

My wife initially booked a flight ticket to Dallas for FP. Before her flight, she drove to one ASC in CA, which is very close to airport, to ask them about a paper cut on her finger.

After checking with receptionist, FP specailist, and their supervisor, it appears that actual FPs have no relation with origins of FP notices and they can be done in any ASC. FBI will send FP results to INS center, who issued the FP notice.

We now hope that they are correct. My wife did her FP in the ASC(CA) and it only took 10 minutes. Afterwards, we cancelled her flight reservation to Dallas.

PS: CA ASCs are using electronic FP system and TX ASCs are still using FP cards. No wonder why TSC is so slow.

Like you said the ASC is not exactly related/connected to a processing center. So its not like all the ASCs in TSC's area use FP cards, there are some where its done electronically.
