I filed for my 140 and 485 in July 2003 and got 140 approved on 04/09.

Question: When should I expect the Fingure Printing notice? Is it something issued after 140 is approved or it is independent of 140? Will the online status on BCIS site change indicating that the notice was mailed?

To get FP notices.....wait atleast for 10 months from the date of I-485 filing.

Note: This is my opinion, there is no fixed formula.
 
FP details

Guys based on details in this forum does anyone have a clue as to when we will be getting the FP notice?? Some have gotten it in 8 months after filing 485, in some cases 10 months after filing 485.

i will be renewing my ead card (online/appearance) by july, 90 days before its expiry date, but until now havent done any finger printing yet, will they require me finger printing before renewal of my ead or will do the finger printing during renewal process? any comments on this?

I agree with srini2004. I got my FP notice on March 3d 2004 and I filled for I140/I485 (EB3) on may 2003. I am still waiting on for my approval.

Regarding your question, yes the message changes when you receive a FP notice as well as when you are done with finger printing. You would need to use your I485 eac number to check the status.
