FP Question to the Gurus, please help

My wife\'s FP was done early this April. When she called the FBI, they told her that they have no information about her case. Later, we thought that maybe the person who did the FP made a mistake in entering the A# number, which turned out to be true, since the FBI could find her case based on the name but never based on the A#.

The issue is that we have also, The same problem now with INS, they cant find the FP, how can we correct it so they can find the FP, which has the wronf A#.?

You have now two options

The options are:
1. To follow up with an IIO at INS and get your wife\'s alien number corrected.
2. Try and give FPs again as I suggested earlier
 
but would doing it again with courtsey copy be OK with INS

wouldnt that complicate matters for that poor chap\'s wife?
Is this a legal advice or your opinion?
 
My opinion only; better course would be to get corrected through IIO

If that fails, it means that INS does not have any way of tracking the old FP.
