FP Processing Times

My lawyer just contacted the FBI to see if my prints had been received, processed and confirmation sent to INS. The person at the FBI stated that FP processing is now taking up to 8 weeks. Has anyone had FP that have been taken recently, take this long to process? I thought this would be a matter of days and not weeks.

HI,

I did my FP on 11/20/04 and the results were transmitted on 11/24/04.

Normally it takes only 3 - 5 days. You can call the FBI and check for your status.

I believe that from fingerprinting to approval is taking about 8 weeks.

Yes, It did change to "processing has resumed on your case".

FP results on Same day

I did FP on 11/2/04. Later on 11/16/04 I called FBI and they told me that results of FP were sent back to USCIS the same day

I just confirmed that the results were also sent the same day. I called my lawyer to tell them this and there was no surprise that different people get different answers to the same questions.
