I AM NEW TO THE 485 SITE. I JUST FILED MY I-485. I HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED MY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOTICE FROM VSC YET. HOW LONG DOES THAT TAKE ? HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE I GET MY FP NOTICE APPROXIMATELY AND ONCE I GET IT HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE BEFORE I COMPLETE THE FINGERPRINTING. I NEED THIS INFO AS I HAVE PLANNED FOR A TRIP TO INDIA. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT FOR SUPPORTING & POSTING INFORMATION ON THIS SITE.

If you just filed for I485 then in my opinion (which is based on experience on my own case and most others in the forum) you have a LONG WAY to go before you get an FP. However, there remains a glimmer of hope that the backlogs may be reduced in 6/7 months becuase s.2045 law has to take effect someday after 6 months after the proposed INS regulations sink in. This is just a wishful thinking.

First of all, if you filed recently, then it will be a while to get FP notice. Something more than 6-10 months. And you keep in touch with this board and "http://www.immitracker.com" site. You will get a fair idea on when to expect yours. And please do not type your messages in all uppercase letters.

Received FP notice yesterday for early January.

Would you please mentioned your exact RD/ND.
Mine is 09/27 and 10/25 so that I would get some idea.
