FP Notice & RFE at the same time.

My case is processing at Houston district and they sent me a letter last week for FP notice and requested to submit employment letter and W-2 forms issued by company in an envelope with my name and A #. Please let me know this is common procedure because I didn't hear USCIS asked FP and RFE at the same time and submit RFE at FP desk. Thanks.

It is not common BUT it is a good news.

By the time you do your FP, I am sure you will have sent them documents too.

Besides the documents, you need to send the copy of RFE.

In an an envelope :-

1. Cover letter indicating what you are sending. A# shall be marked clearly.

2. Copy of RFE that BCIS sent you.

3. Desired documents asked by them.

You can number the document and in the cover letter indicate the same - make it easy for them

It does not matter if you got both at the same time.

You are 2 months away from approval

Toolongawait,

Thanks your guide. Do you mean I need to send required documents to Houston district and deliver same documents to FP desk?

My wife was required same RFE with separate letter but she has had any job after I-485 processing. Do I need to send my employment letter and W-2 to them? Same envelop or separate one?

I appreciate your good guidance.

Thanks.

Hi There,

I am not sure why you are asking about FP desk.

With my best of my knowledge :-

1. Finger printing is done at various locations and finger printing department is not part of BCIS. I don't believe FP desk will accept any documentation from you.

2. The RFE shall clearly indicate where you need to send the documentation - RFE shall an address where you need to post the document. Whereever RFE indicates that you need to send the documentation - send there.

3. All documents in one envelope - with copy of RFE.

Please see the previous message.

All my experience with TSC. It is possible Houston office does the FP too.

Your documents need to reach to person who is asking - if the officer is in Houston office AND you do the finger printing at the same place - you can give the documents there.

Can you put the actual RFE on this thread please - that will give us more insight and why you are asking FP desk question and will be useful for us.

You can remove your personal details from that.

First of all Don't worry.

Here is some senario

1. It may be the new policy they are trying to implement to ask FP and RFE in one shot. if this is case that would be fine...becuse most ppl waited many years and some changed or lost jobs too does so this is good while many of our friends are trying to find jobs . Noone is sure about new policy... and may be u are the first known person.... who is sharing the info.

2. It would be only ur FP....notice and RFE is sent by mistake ... here what else I like to share.... few weeks ago one thread in atleast same 02 case were asked to appear on interview ...and unfortuetly he was not expecting the interview call very soon... because they are processing 01 cases and his was 2/4 quarter Rd/ND ..... so what I am thinking is it may be only FP call ... and RFe was sent as error..

3. May be to reduce some time processing backlog they are preparing or experimenting some new techniques to do in one shot... like concurrent 140/495 aldredy their. may be FP+RFE together.... but its all senarios ....

I believe ur is first case in my knowledge.... FP+RFE together....

anyway... its good for u just follow whatever they are asking

and Very Good LUck to u.

Pls do keep us update... about this unique request.... and dont' worry .... u are all fine....

Thank you very much for all of you. I of course doubted to be requested to submit FP and RFE at the same time and especially deliver requested documents at FP office. I wonder how they send my documents to the immigration officer.

Here is the wording which I have received.

"When you appear to have your fingerprints taken, please submit the requested documents (listed below) in an envelope with your name and A file number from your finger print notice, written on the envelope. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, submit clear, legible copies."

Do you have any idea why they have issed RFE ? Did you notify them about any job change or address change ? Are you with the same employer who filed your I-140/I-485 ?

It clearly indicates that you got to submit document when you go for FP. I guess FP is being done in local BCIS office too. Probably like we do finger printing when we go for stamping.

Most people here have their process thru TSC and not regional office. This might be system in local office.

I would not worry - just do what they say.

Though BCIS is slow, for most part during my processing I felt they knew what they are doing but slowly.....

ManiG,

There is no job & address change after I-140/485. I'm sure my case is streightforward and I suppose that USCIS want to make sure before their final approval.
