FP notice received for my husband; not mine

Just want to let you all know what happened to our case of I-485 application. Both my husband's and my I485's RD is 9/17/02. Last month, I sent a letter to texas INS to update our address from TX to MA. Somehow, this month, my husband received a FP notice to ask him to do fingerprinting on March 11 in Boston. Both his and my online messages have not changed. But I am the primary applicant.

Here are my questions:

1. Could I go together with him to get finger printing? But I did not have the notice. How should I get the notice?

2. Could INS approve his case first even if I am the primary applicant?

Thanks a lot

When did his FP notice arrive ? Give it couple of days, hopefully yours will arrive soon.

If it does not arrive by march 11th, you can both goto the service center and try.
By the way, can you tell from outside of the envelope, who has sent the notice? TSC or VSC ?

GCnofun,

You both can try at the FP office. If the INS have scheduled an FP for you, the FP office will see it. In that case, most of them will let you do it even if you do not have the notices with you. On the other hand, if INS haven't yet scehuled an FP, you will NOT able to do it.

BTW, it is NOT unusual to receive the FP notices separatly. I did my FP 2 months before my husband (my husband was the primary applicant).

Thanks a lot. Plasticcard and Goastros.

VSC sent the FP notice to my husband. I guess that means his case has been transferred to VSC? Pls correct me if I am wrong. I will go with my husband for finger printing and update you with what has happened.

Thanks

Not necessarily, GCnofun.
We too have been in similar situation.
Within a month of our move to VA, we rec'd FP notices from TSC.
Then the next month we got FP notices from VSC.
The online status changed after 10 days and just says "FP resumed".
I am not sure as yet where are our cases with and don't know
how to find that out.
I tried the 800 number but they couldn't tell me that either.
