FP not received by FBI

I gave my fingerprints at INS office in Oakland, CA on Aug 15, 2001. Today, I called FBI and they said they haven\'t received my fingerprints from INS as yet. How long does it usually takes to process the prints before INS resume further processing. Does anyone know INS Oakland office number.

Electronic finger prints are transmitted instantly to the FBI, and they should get it right away. Maybe your prints got in late, and didn\'t get entered into the system until the next day. Don\'t worry about it. It will show up.

I was the 4th person who gave FP at local INS office on that day. My attorney says,

"Normally the agencies can process the fingerprints in a few days. In the past, however, it has sometimes taken the INS a few extra weeks to complete their part of the necessary paperwork which accompanies the fingerprint review request, which is sent to both the FBI and the CIA. Also, the databases of the various agencies are often not well coordinated and so the information available to the person who picks up the phone is often limited and out of date."

FBI has processed my FP and the results are send back to INS.
