Folks,

Does anyone have experience of Finger Printing in Kansas City INS? How long does it normally take and how soon should we arrive there? The notice says to appear at 11AM along with a photo ID.

I don't get to this board very often now but I did live in KC for 7 years and had my fingerprints done not once but twice. My Wife had her's done twice there too so we may have some experience to share. Generally, they are nice but that office seems to have attitude problems and my wife's fingerprints NEVER were acceptable by the FBI. She subsequently had them redone in Seattle and cleared without incident.

Now, after you go through security, take your forms to the back of the sitting area. Don't bother getting in line or getting a number. (If you want to get in line, try the middle window with the bald guy - he is the most professional). When you get to the back, there is an office with a mail guard on the wall. This is where they fingerprint. Put your docs in the mail thing and tell the fingerprint ppl you are there. They will call you in about 30 minutes after that. These ppl are subcontractors and are very nice.

We got our FP last year.
First thing is make a copy of the FP notice, since they would collect the original. Arrive 15 to 30 minutes early. Since it is away from the main city you can do a parallel parking on the street. There will be no information on the building. Just identify by a large number of cars being parked on either side of the street.
Your entry would be to the right of the building. The moment you enter you see some counters, just ignore them, if not you will waste your time. Turn Left and walk to the end of the hall. Towards the end on right is the FBI/FP office. Even if you have kids no food no drink no bags allowe. carry your documents in a big envelope.

If you are travelling from the Overland Park KS or KC MO.....
Drive towards KCI Airport on I-29
Take the TIFFANY SPRINGS PARKWAY exit- exit number 10. 0.22 miles
Turn LEFT onto NW TIFFANY SPRINGS PKWY. 0.14 miles
Turn LEFT onto NW PRAIRIE VIEW RD. 0.19 miles
Turn RIGHT onto NW 97TH TER. 0.44 miles
Turn LEFT onto N CONANT AVE.
