FP For Spouse - Need Advise !!

Hi All,

I recieved FP notice for my spouse today. The notice says to appear on 12th March 04. We have travel plans next week which may extend beyond 12th March. I have heard this before and hence wanted to confirm it. Is it possible to get the FP done before the specified date? Do we need to give any explanation for the same? What will happen if we show up at the FP office for FP using the notice which says our appointment is on 12th March?

Please advise, it is urgent as I need to act fast on this.

PS. This is for Vermont Service Center, so please tell me ur experiences at that center

My attorney told me that talk to that INS center and if they dont have any problem then you should be okay so I guess you can try and if they dont do that now then you should cancel your travel plan and do that FP on time otherwise your case is going to be delayed as its mentioned on the notice....

My FP experience at Atlanta, GA. W/o consulting anyone, I went to the FP place ( not the service center itself, but INS application service center) three weeks before the date on FP notice. I was let in w/o any fuss. When it came to my wife, a clerk pointed out that it is weeks earlier. Before she could respond, the clerk went on with his biz.
The rule of thumb I was told is that they will let u do it regardless of date on FP notice, if the FP place is not busy. so, go on a work day.
