FP experience at SF

Hi,

My FP experiences at 250 Broadway Street, SF

Got ready - checked up my fingers for the 1001th time - the small scratch
was almost invisible. With all the paperwork, my wife and I started for
the SF INS office located at 250 Broadway for our apointment at 1PM.
As I work in SOMA - took a route not prescribed by Yahoo and going on
Embarcadero and then on Broadway(I stay in South San Francisco - so I was
driving north). Anyway, it was Saturday 17 Feb. Street parking was a
breeze which was shocking.
Finding parking near North Beach - at afternoon time - this had to be my
lucky day. But alas - after parking my car and walking to the INS office -
found this printout stuck to the door - saying -"We are closed - due to
Presidents day"
              #$#$#$#$###$#$%#$
They sent out the notices.... they know when they are closed. they....
this.... and they... that.... $%$%$%$%$%$%$%% { emotions }

Being unwell, I decided to go to the FP office on the following thursday.
This time I decided to go in the morning. Again, street parking was easy.
(Note: most parking meters have maximum limit of 1 hour) On entering, we
were asked (rather questioned) why we did not come earlier for our FP
(forget any mention that the office was closed on the date mentioned on
the notice). "Being sick" was an acceptable answer.

After that things were easy. The staff was very courteous and professional.
First, we were given a form to fill out, a number and inspected our
fingers. (This turns out to be your receipt later on.) Before we had
finished filling it up - two panicky ladies started calling out our
numbers. So we hurriedly went to the counter - wherein they completed our
forms and checked our fingers.

Told us to wait for our number.
Within 5 minutes our numbers were called. My wife went first.
This FingerPrint operator took me to an optical scanner machine/computer.
It looked like a pretty sophisticated machine. He then filled out all the
details of my form into the machine/computer. Then gave me some lotion to
apply to my fingers.
After that took fingerprints for some time. First generic prints of the
hand and then individual prints of each finger. I could see the prints on
the screen in front of me. The prints appeared pretty clear to me. The
prints were then checked by the supervisor.

My wife in the meantime was taking more time than me... Later I found out
that the lady in charge of taking my wife\'s prints was interested in her
necklace (actually mangalsutra - worn by Hindu wives). She was also asked
to fill out a courtesy form regarding their efficiency.

Anyway, was out in 30 mins. And yes - driving to SF is not difficult - and
parking is not difficult either - just be ready to circle around the block
for some time..

I called up the FBI the next day and our prints were cleared.
