FP experience at Newark

Yesterday I finally got my FP done at Newark. My appointment was for 12.00 PM. Reached at around 11.35. Was admitted by 11.40. Had to fill up a form and then wait in line for a number. Then had to wait till my number was called. By the time I left the building it was 2.15 PM. So it took around 2 1/2 hours! I know some people have posted their experiences here where it took only 15 mins but not everyone is so lucky!

So if you are going for FP at Newark be prepared for a wait ranging from 15 mins to 3 hours. I also parked in the paid parking lot just beside the INS building (24 Commerce St. ) and had to pay $14 ($8 for one hour, $10 for two and $14 for anything more than 2 hrs).

I want to know how you got the appointment time?

In the FP notice, only the whole week is specified (without any
specfic time). I have FP next week at Portland. Since there is no
specific time given in the FP notice, I am planning to go early in
the morning of 14th.

Is there a way to take an appointment (so that I can avoid waiting
for too long). Since I have to travel about 110 miles (I do not
reside in Portland), getting an appointment time will be really
helpful.

In my case my FP notice had a date and time, there were no other options. I guess it was because my FP was in Newark which handles a high volume of cases. I guess you could go as you plan to, since there\'s no specific date and time specified in your FP notice.
