Me and my wife went today(03/31/01) for our FP at Van Nuys ..For those who came in late ..i received our FP yesterday and our wacs are in the
wac-01-124-**** series...It was scheduled for 04/17/01 but we went today ...and Van Nuys ASC has no problem with coming ahead of schedule....There were about 12 people before us but each one takes about 15 minutes not more and there are about 5 FP assistants who do this so its very fast....My wifes FP was done pretty fast in less than 10 minutes but the supervisor who rechecks the FP did about 3-4 fingers of mine again saying it was not clear or something ...anyway all are courteous in center ...I will call FBI on tuesday to check the status..by the way Van Nuys has digital computeried FP machines ..about 5 of them...so i guess FBI shouldn;\'t have problem with quality ...any rejections from FBI for FPs taken at Van Nuys ...please post....CIBA please put this in your FP exp .....

Do you think it is OK to take the FP earlier than the scheduled date?
I mean, will INS process the FP immediately after receiving the FP or just hold on some time?

I have done mine at Vun Nuys Center three weeks before my apt. date. I called INS National Customer Service , and they said that is OK with them if Vun Nuys Center wants to do it earlier.
I called FBI the next day after I had them done, and everything was sent to INS the very next day.
FIB transmit fingerprints electronically to INS. INS gets it right away. It is just up to INS when do they pick the transmission up. I see that as checking your e-mails. When INS feels like it they get it. Or maybe they get it when they work on the case. Who would know with them.

I guess you definately dont loose anything by doing FP earlier..so Maggie go ahead and do it....Van Nuys accepts earlier appoints some ASC may not.....anyway I will check with FBI tomorrow ( monday ) and see what happened...FBI i know receives it same day so they should have got it on saturday itself..
