FP code 3 appt question - need advice

My priority date is 12/12/2001 and 140&485 were concurrently filed on 9/20/2004 at CSC. I and my wife recevied our first FP notice in early Oct 2004 from VSC and took the appointment on the scheduled day (10/14/2004) at Newark ASC. A week later, we again received FP notice. This time it came from CA with code 3. I was not aware of the different codes at that time and so consulted with my HR/attorney. I was told that it could be a mistake and was aksed to talk to National Service Center (1-800# in the notice). A rep at National service center didn't ask me anything about the code and suggested me to send a letter to CA (address in the notice envelope) stating I already gave fingerprint and attach AIW (worksheet given during fingerprint appt) and copies of new notice and I did it.

Recently, I received code 2 Biometric appt notice for my 5 year old for 5/3/05. A rep at to National Service Center explained about code 2. This made me to go back to our records and look at our 2nd notice having code 3.

The 2nd notice has appt date of 11/27/2004 and obviously we missed it. I spoke to National Service Center about rescheduling but they asked to mail a letter to CSC about this confusion and request for rescheduling. Since I didn't get any response for my mail sent in October, I am not sure if they will even look at the mail.

What are my options now?
a) Wait for CSC to send another notice
b) Send mail as suggested and wait
c) Talk to Newark ASC
d) Try walkin for FP code 3 to Newark AS with the old notice on a Wednesday
e) anything else?

This forum is great and quite useful. Thanks for your help.

Mail in a letter explaining the situation.

No harm in having a go at getting FP'ed with old notice

what was the code for first FP??

snsk,

Do you know the code for your first FP that you did on (10/14/2004) at Newark ????

Unfortunately, I didn't take copy of my initial FP notice. I didn't know about the different codes at that time. I thought Newark ASC will return it to me after verifying the appointment. All they gave me back was the AIW worksheet indicating that I completed the appointment.

Now I am going to try doing a walk-in at Newark ASC on a Wednesday around 9 AM and if that does not work, send a letter to CSC requesting to reschedule the appointment. Does it make sense?

Still I have few questions in my mind. Is Wednesday's and Saturday's only for rescheduled appointments and walk-ins? Do they allow walk-in for case like mine? Should I consider going to Philly ASC instead?

Hi snsk,

We are in the same boat!

We had received two FP notices one of them asking us to appear on 2nd Sept, 2004 and the other one on 3rd Sept 2004. We consulted our lawyer and he asked us to do our FPs on 2nd Sept. When we did our FPs at Oakland, CA, we were only fingerprinted. At that time we did not know about this code 2 and code 3 stuff. We had shown them our both FP notices, but they said it may be an error and we can safely ignore if the FPs are taken in 90 days period. Now we received FP notice of my 6 year old and found out the code 2 code 3 mystery. We finished my son's FP today and requested them to do our biometrics as well. We had photocopies of our Sept 2004 FP notices. They however did not take our biometrics and told us that we should be fine. If needed, they will send us another FP (Biometrics) notices. They simply can't take our Biometrics without Original notices!

You may wish to try out and if you are lucky, they may take your biometrics without originals.
