FP = Biometrics?

My attorney contacted me saying they received notice for Biometrics for mine and my wifes case. I have following questions


1) If Biometrics and FP what i did around a year back are same?
2) I have seen postings about Code 1 and Code 2. What are they?
3) Mine has Code 2 on it. What does that mean?
4) Why did my attorney received the notice and not me?
5) Recently we had change of address and i called they to update my address. They even sent a confirmation of the change. Is it because of change of address i didn't receive notice to my address?
6) Our case online status also do not show they have mailed any notice. Shouldn't it have an update for it?



There was a type during the address change by them I called them again and corrected it. But i didn't get any letter after that confirming it. Do i get a letter for address correction?

You will also receive letter. Yes they usually send a letter confirming your changed address. In case of FP / Biometrics they do not update online status. Code 2 means Biometrics i.e photo and index finger scan. Take it easy you are all fine .
 
Yes FP = Biometrics - Basically any form of physical impression (even your signature) is a Biometric.

The classifications are

Code 1 - Finger Print 10 fingers
Code 2 - Finger Print Index finger + Photo + Signature on the electronic key pad.
Code 3 - Code 1 + Code 2.

Attorney always receive a copy of any notice sent to you, to ensure that you get it in time (in case if you have changed address and are no longer available on the old address).

If you have changed address and did not update INS then better call and update your address, otherwise call and verify if they have correct address in their system.

INS may or may not send a confirmation letter for change of address.

Looks like NSC is now working on JUL 2002 PD. Today I also Found Biometric notice for our Family. My PD is JUL 2002. I am from India and My Labor was filed in EB3 category. Does this mean we will receive GC very soon? How much time it takes after Biometric for approval? Or is it just one more process?
 
I don't think getting a Biometrics notice means GC is around the corner. We can hope though. I learned not to be so optimistic after i started dealing with NSC.

...No my PD is Nov 2002,we also got Biometrics last week.I am from India and My Labor was filed in EB3 category tooo.
 
If it is 2nd time when you have got the FP notice then you can be hopeful for the GC being around the corner. Usually the security check after 1st FP takes longer for clearance. 2nd FP (which is now biometrics collection Code 2 or 3) results in faster approval. At least it happened in my case.

I too recevied a biometrics - Code 2 notice. My PD is Jun 2002. Hoping against hope that my GC is ..... :rolleyes:
