I went to the New Rochelle office for fingerprinting about a month ago.
The address on the Fingerprint Notification wasn\'t complete. It simply said 246 North - the correct address is 246 North Avenue.
North Avenue is the main road heading North/South through New Rochelle.
It\'s only a handful of blocks North of I-95 and very easy to find.
There\'s also a parking lot behind the office.
Myself and my wife arrived at about 7:40am and we were second in line. By 8am when they opened the doors, there was about 20 people behind us.
They had someone waiting at the door to check your notification letter and he then handed us a form each to complete (Name/Address/SEN/A#/Height, Hair color etc.). He even supplied the pen! We returned the forms back and were then told to wait. We waited less than a minute before we were called back up. The forms were checked and we then went to get fingerprinted. The fingerprints are taken electronically and they had a A person who checked them for clarity etc. while we were there. I was told that since they had the machines installed they\'ve never needed a re-print because of in-eligible prints. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and I was even able to joke around with the woman taking the prints. An INS official with a sense of humor !
We were out of there by 8:20am - pretty nice seeing as I\'d booked a vacation day from work expecting to be in line for several hours.
My advice would be to get there by 7:40am and you\'ll have no problems.
I phoned the FIB last week (304-625-5590) to enquire about my prints and they said they were processed and returned back to the INS the same day they were taken.
Good Luck.
