FP and Biometrics

Hello,

What is the difference between Fingerprints and Biometrics? Are these separate.. Is it like we have to go TWICE to INS office - first for FP and then for Biometrics... please advise..

thats correct!
you might have to go 3 times
FP1: is ten fingers
FP2:code2: biometric: index finger plus picture and signature
FP3: includes both.
Previously people use to go for biometric only after I-485 approval but now a days they are taking FP2 well in advance. This is to avoid pasport stamping in future. The moment I-485 is approved your cards will be released second day.

Does anyone know how long does it take for 485 approval or 485 RFE after you're fingerprinted for Code 3?

Lastly, I have a 4 year old kid, how about her biometrics (do they need her picture and index finger print for gc?)!
