Hi got FP done today at Albany ( today was the appointment). RD 9/15 ND 11/13. Calm and cool place- took 30 min total for us.

Appointment was at 1100. Reached around 1015. You enter after security check ( metal detector/frisking). They give you a form to fill up with details like name, address, A#, DOB etc. They also give you a waiting number. there were just 3 persons ahead of us. we got called in about 20 minutes. Inside they take the form, FP notice and one form OF ID. Driver license is OK. They then enter/verify some details on the computer. They stamp a receipt for FP on the form you filled up and return to you. They take the FP for both hands finger by finger electronically. Takes 5 minutes max.

I am yet to receive it.

I submitted my application this week. I don\'t have any details yet. I hope this tracker will help us in getting an estimate of how long it takes to get FP notice. I did not find any tracker for Albay, so decided to start one.

I am planning to go to India. My wife would be gone for 3 months. I submitted by 485 this week, do you guys feel that I will get my FP notice by June 1st week. Thanks.

You never know with FP notice. However, the FP notice, at least mine, gives 3 months grace period from FP date to go and do it in any subsequent week. If you do not have FP done by then , your 485 is considered abandoned. Hope this info helps you.

YES, NEED 140 IS CORRECT. MINE STATES THAT I CAN GO ON ANY WEDNESDAY AT THE SAME TIME WITHIN 05/21/02 .. A GRACE PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS. AFTER THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED.

LOOKS LIKE NOV-DEC ALBANY AOS FILERS ARE GETTING FP APPOINTMENTS WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF RD. A FRIEND OF MINE WHO FILED IN NOV ALSO GOT HIS APPT DATE WITHIN 3 MONTHS. BUT HE HAD ALREADY BOOKED HIS TICKETS TO INDIA AND WILL BE BACK BEFORE THE GRACE PERIOD EXPIRES. THEN IT DEPENDS ON THE WORK LOAD OF THE CENTER I GUESS. SO YOU NEVER KNOW. I WOULD PLAY IT SAFE.

My AVM confirmed that on 1st FEb FP review received, processing resumed for both self and spouse. Happened within 3 days !
 
FP within a week

One of my friends submitted his 485 on Jan 14th got receipt within a week and FP notice within a week after the receipt date. I can\'t believe they are processing so fast.
