Forum Real Estate question for operations/admin

First of all, THANKS to Rajiv Khanna and to you(admin) for maintaining such a useful forum.

When I get to the VSC forum
(ImmigrationPortal Forums > ImmigrationPortal.com > US Immigration > Immigrant Visas (Green Cards) > I-485 Issues > 485 issues in Vermont Service Center )

it is pretty hard to see threads on the main area of the page.

There are so many things taking the prime real estate:
1. Law firm header (reduce the size?)
2. quick links to immigration.com
3. LAGRE disclaimer (definitely reduce the size and add forum buttons right there)
4. Forum buttons
5. URL tracker
6. Active users in forum (take it to bottom)
7. Forum (archives and tracker - can be at the bottom)
8. Actual header (thread, thread starter etc.)
9. Green Card petition online (combine in ONE usable link)
10. Important case 1 - always up there (combine in ONE usable link)
11. Important case 2 - always up there (combine in ONE usable link)

If you take all of these I CAN ONLY SEE ONE actual thread in this page. (that is when I have good screen resolution and I am viewing I.E browser in FULL SCREEN mode)

I don't know about others but to me this is awfully annoying, can you do something about it? There are several obvious things that you can do to address this. Plus you can reduce the font size.

Not critical, but is it just me or do you share similar views?

If you can, try and decrease the font size on your screen. This way you will definitely get to see more threads. the other points that you mentioned like the disclaimer , yes they are inconvenient because they use up almost half of the screen in a 800 by 600 resolution.

But I can definitely live with it.

Yup I agree, not only can I live with it, I do not have any problem. There are so many benefits of this forum that this is really a non-issue from a macro perspective.

But to address your point, I have 1024x768 and that is mostly the standard setting. If I go to 1280x1024 it puts strain on the eyes. Plus if I use the IE browser font size to 'smaller', I can only see two more threads. And if I set it to 'smallest' the text becomes blurry.

Anyway, this is not a complaint, but a suggestion to admin, I think the readability of the forum page can be enhanced. So, every one else please take it in a good spirit.
