Dear Forum,


Just happen to call last Friday to find How long will it take me to get my already filed Travel Document Request. And, IO reassured me Hopefully the 2nd month of next year. Imagine it is already 4 month since i have filed for one. He also told me It is going to be more busy due to NEW YEAR AND CHIRSTMAS TIME TRAVLER APPLICANT NUMBER INCREASE. So, if any one of you planning for holiday travel apply ASAP along with expediate request with inital application so that way you won't encounter the delay that i have experianced. I hope it will help.
 
NSC has a very bad backlog of RTD and RP applications... it is taking them several months (almost +/- 6months) to process them. I applied for an expedite RTD at my initial filing and it took them 6weeks to process it... (after sent them several faxes to "remind" them and with the help of my congressman)

If you are planing to travel using one of the above documents apply ASAP and make sure you fax "reminders" and for sure contact your congressman with the proper and strong documentation to prove the reason of your request to be expedite.
