I have been reading and researching all day for answers regarding my issue. Here it goes.
I have sent my N-400 application in october and received a FP date for january. in february 13th, i have received an interview date for april 25th 2006. later on in february, i have received another letter, this time from US department of homeland security stating: A review of your N-400 application for Naturalization, indicates that additional information is required to prossess your application. Please brring this letter, all the additional request below, your permanent resident card, all passports and your re-entry permit(if you have one) to your interview. Failure to do so may cayse delays in deciding your case or result in denial of your application. Important: DO NOT SEND OR BRING THE DOCUMENTS TO USCIS UNTIL YOUR INTERVIEW!!.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED
* your selective sevice number.
i was informed to bring the second letter with me too. when i went to the USCIS building, everything was fine, i had the interview, signed my pics, passed the test. I showed the interviewer the 2nd letter and he told me that he does not know why they sent me this letter, since i already have my selective service number on the application. anyways, after i signed all the documentations, he then gave me a N-652 form stating
1- You have passed the test of English and U.S history and Government.
2- A Decision cannot yet be made about your application.
when i asked why, he then told me that Pending National Security Backgroud clearence. Well, i can't say that they could be other people with my first and last name since it's really Unique. I don't know what is going on. I asled the officer should i be worried???. He was a very nice guy, he told me know but sometimes, it will be a delay in the system or in security clearence, and then he showed me the Note on the form where it's written that under section 336 of immigration and nationality act, USCIS have 120 days to make determination or i can request a hearing in US district court.
ANY advice guys, do you think it's because of the second letter??? me and my brother applied the same day and he already got his citizenship. any info will be helpful. THANKS
