Form N 400, Application for US citizenship

Greetings All,
The information on this forum is very helpful and I thank you all for visiting the forum and helping us by sharing your experiences.

1.) I shall be completing my 5 years on the Green Card in April 15 of 2006. Does it hurt the chances of application, if I file for my application 90 days in advance, say by last week of January 2006.

2.) Do I need to mention traffic citation (speeding tickets) in the form N400.

Thanks and Regards

There should be no negative impact if you file within 90 days from 5 years as allowed by the law. If my math is correct, you can safely apply after Jan 15, 2005 provided you meet all the other requirements.

I'll let others answer the speeding ticket question, since I did not have tickets so I did not have to decide whether to include them or not. There have been a lot of discussions on this issue so I would recommend that you seach the post for "ticket" and you should get a fair idea of what people have done.

All the best.

Thank you "ocworker" and "sfbayguy" for your responses. This really help.

Do I need to go to the court for the information of Traffic Tickets or the DMV record would be fine. Please advise

you need to gather the proof of payment and a copy of your citation. i believe your local county court house of which the ticket(s) was issued to you would have the info.

DMV does not have your proof of payment record.

Greetings OCWorker,
Wish you a very happy new year.

Your input was very helpful over the weekend, I was able to get records from DMV and court house.

glad i could help. even thought interview officers *most likely* do not ask for the proof. however, you better be prepared than feel sorry.

good luck
