Forgot about Fingerprints!

My husband re-applied for his EAD at the end of September of 2003. His current EAD expires at the end of Feb. 2004.

We filed online for the application and then received our receipt in the mail 2 weeks later.

Our mistake was, that we did not call and schedule our fingerprints until yesterday (01/06/04)! We did get an appointment for today (01/07/04).

After looking over the receipt we got back from INS, it makes no mention of calling to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting. I know there is mention of this on the BCIS web site. But doesn't it make sense to remind you on the recepit?

Waiting all of this time we had completely forgotten to go! We go through the Vermont service center. Do you think our current EAD will expire before we get the new one?

Please help!

What's your point?

There's no connection between fingerprinting and the EAD...the EADs based on 485 apps do not require fingerprints to have been taken.

Online EAD filers have to call for Fingerprinting and photo. Did you read the PDF? It clearly says call to schedule finger printing.

I stand corrected - I guess I am indeed (learning, that is)

Sorry to have jumped the gun on that one, my bad - had not read the online documentation. Guess I'm spoilt my company's attorneys who do everything for me :D :D

Fingerprint notice

Hi.
I applied for EAD / AP for my spouse, by mail.
The receipt notice for both these reached today, and mentions that electronic photograph, signature and fingerprints need to be taken ( for botht the receipts).
This is her 2nd EAD.
Can you please point out where the documentation is located which mentions FP needs to be scheduled?
We have just completed our 2nd FP for the 485 applicaiton.
Does she still need take appointment for the FP?

Please advise.
Thansk in advance
Sely

I think it will be on receipt notice if you e-file your EAD, saying to call a number and schedule FP.

As for the mailed application , you will be FPed when you go to pickup your EAD.
