i am a GC holder temporarily living in Canada ( i have a reentry permit). i got a quick question regarding filing Taxes for foreign income.

Got my GC on june 2005 but i only started filing for fOREIGN INCOME TAX for tax year 2006 then 2007.
Will there be any problem if i havent filed for tax year 2005? do i still needed to filed for tax year 2005 since i only got my GC on june 2005?

hope somebody have any idea about this situation.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

For 2005, the "green-card test" of residence would mean you were (and are) a US resident for tax purposes. You need to file US taxes for that year unless your income was low enough to not be required to file (I think somewhere around US$7000 back then).

Look up IRS publication 519 (you need to find the 2005 version).
