Foreign Birth Certificate

I'm about to go through the process of getting my green card through marriage to USC.

However, one of the documents, my birth certificate is in Malay (I'm from Malaysia), I could get it translated and notorized from a public notary, would USCIS accept it? Is it considered official?

Yes they have to but the translator has to be certified. Make sure their papers are in order before you pay for that.
