Hi cnatar02,
I hear you but is it legal to give your passport to someone else? I was told that only the passport holder can carry his or her own passport across the borders, no one else?
I have a similar situation as my wife is out of USA and I was wondering how would she get her passport stamped? If you did the same thing and it is legal, I could carry her passport as well.
Please advise??
Thanks,
marrukh74.

marrukh74 -

the passport has a statement in the back of it about another person carrying one's passport with an authorization letter. but it does not say anything specific about crossing borders. i guess, it should be ok since its your wife and not a friand or a stranger. apart from that, i dont know if its legal or not. i just followed what the statement on the back of the passport said, didnt really thought about legality in crossing borders.

the canadian consulate doesnt care where the passport comes from as long as they get it in time and have an address in the US to mail it back. so i think you should be just fine. good luck and let the forum know how it all went.

others - any other comments / suggestions?

thanks

cnatar02,
Thanks for your information. I will check my passport if it has some note at the back.
Does anyone has or had the same case? Please advice!
Thanks in advance,
marrukh74
