For US citizenship, issue with writing name behind photo

Hi All,

I need few clarification regarding N-400, citizenship application

1. While submitting 2 photos it is mentioned that I have to write name and A# on the back in pencil. I am not able to write my name and A# clearly on the back of the photo using pencil. The photo paper is oily. Do I have to print the photo in some special paper or is it ok to write the name in black pen.

2. The minimum documents needed to file for N-400 , in sample case is copy of green card, 2 photos, fee check and N-400 application. My case is straight forword, so is it ok to just send these documents.

3. Can I mail these documents as certified mail.

If anyone can answer these questions, that would be of great help. I did check the FAQ and the forum for this, I could not find an answer.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Sivakar.

The trick the IO's use for writing on photos is to lightly abrade the surface with fine sandpaper (400grit) or an emery board. Rough it up a little and your pencil will work just fine.
