tt I was reading your post,Ihope you will share the info for others.
1 You have written that you have kept Canadian Driving licence, you seem to be in US but according to Law you can not have US driving licence and Canada Driving licene at the same time? did you exchanged your US driving licence in Canada or you are driving in US with Canada licence?
If this is the case what proof you give while in US as your ID because for banking or everything they need ID even when you travel in US they need US ID.
2 You wrote aboutthat you got Canadian Credit card, how it was possible because normaly in Canada it is very difficult to get Canadian Ctedit card.or you just used US Credit cards and have the reciepts with you that it was used in Canada on particular dates.
3 What is AUTO CLUB it this some card?
4 I have got the information for Health card in Toronto and normally it is difficult to apply as they need 3 diffrent kind of documents and want the apartment lease also, so I feel that it is not possible for every one who just want to land and come back to US, because they need residence proof and hotel address is not acceptable for health card in Ontario

Regards

I have kept my receipts and bank statements , other letters for
SIN, health card, drivers lic, auto club , credit card to prove that I have been in canada for the time I say I have been.

two cents

1. You can have both driving license US/Can. When I went to driving license office in Canada they gave me an option to surrender US license and get a G2 license in Canada. I said, No , I want to keep my US License. Then the officer there said "Well Sir, then you need to start from scratch and give written test and then go through entire procedure...." I took my Learning License after passing a fancy test at a computer terminal. They send your G1 license to your Mailing Address there.

2. When I passed my written driving test, I took that paper (indicates my address on temporary learner\'s license), my bank statment for the health card. I applied health card on 4th month after landing.

Rest of your queston tt tt might be able to answer. Coz I donno myself how to take CCs without local credit history in Canada.

so here is what I did...

Khi_boy is right, they asked to surrender my US lic and were willing to give me a BC lic# with the same lic# ( aparently ( this is what they said ) in N. america ( US + canada ) you can hold legally only 1 license ? dont know if that is true or not )..anyhow I refused to turn in my UR drivers Lic, so I applied for a BC ID card,
which is exactly the same as the license but ofcouse it is only a photo id card.

My master card company was only too glad to transfer my account to the canadian branch and address.( aparently they get a cut in the forex rate every time I use my card in canada )

I applied for and got the BCAA membership with my AAA membership transfer from US to canada.

For health card : I applied after I had landed right away, the very next day ...after 3 months they sent me the bill for 2 months in advance which I paid and then the cards came the next month.

FOr bank account , we applied at canada trust and got our ATM cards mailed to the US address, same for the SIN cards.
