For those whose spouse hasn't received FP notice

Hi

I would like to share my experience since I got lots of help from others in this forum. I received my 2nd FP notice at the end of August and was scheduled to do FP on 9/11/04. But my wife didn't receive any notice. Our 1st FP notice arrived at the same time.

I found on this forum that someone sent fax to VSC (my 485 is at VSC) to expedite the process. I sent fax and mailed them a letter. And here is the template for the letter that I sent. I actually sent fax for three times. The first time VSC replied that i should contact the 800 customer service line (which is not true). The second time I was told that they don't deal with fingerprint issues. The third time the fax went through and i was told that it was forwarded to the department which handles this. Good news is that my wife received her FP notice 2 days before 9/11/04. And we went for our 2nd FP together.

So here is what I would recommend: send VSC fax and a letter. If bounced back, send it multiple times (of course you may need to change your letter accordingly depending on what their answer is). VSC has a form that you can fill out for all requests. Here is the link:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/g-731v.pdf

use the second page of the form (it supposed to be the first page, but in english version, the two pages are reversed). I checked "other" and put "Fingerprint notice" after that option.

Here is the fax number: 802-527-4816

For people in California center, I found a fingerprint request form, which makes things easier. You can just fill out the form and fax it to the fax number provided on the form.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Inquiry on Second Finger Print Notice for I-485 application

Dear Mr. Novak,

This letter serves as a sincere inquiry to the status of second finger notice for my pending I-485 petition.

Both my wife and I have pending I-485 applications in Vermont Service Center (VSC) of USCIS. Ours is an employment based (EB-2) application and I am the primary applicant.

We both completed our first finger print process at the same day on <1FP date>. Based on the information we received from Customer Service Call Center 1-800-375-5283, fingerprints expire after 15 months.

On <date>, I received my second finger print notice, but my wife has not received her notice so far as of <today's date>.

Normally, my wife and I receive notices around same timeframe. I understand that such synchronization may not be guaranteed. I was advised by Customer Service Call Center, however, that we should contact Vermont Service Center directly for the finger print issues. I would like to ask your attention to investigate the status of the second finger print notice for my wife, in case of its being missed by system glitch or mail delivery error.

I would also appreciate if you could suggest an estimated processing time for this request in your reply.

Here is our information for any further communication.

Fax to VSC for FP Notice

Teene.

Thanks for your posting. I sent a fax to VSC as suggested by you. Got a reply from them saying they are forwarding to the appropriate department for action on FP notice for my spouse. VSC also mentioned not to fax in future for these kinds of requests.

How many days did they take before sending the FP notice for your spouse since accepting your request?
