Generally you should have your A number handy to talk to them. They will tell you that your FP has been cleared and has been sent to the INS. Every thing is computerised (done by INS nebraska) for all the centres and then is available to all the ASCs and also the service centres.

I called FBI and they told me that they sent my FP to NSC. My FP was done manually by local Police department and they send the physical FP on hard paper to FBI.

I had the same problem with my wife's FP. First her FP also went to NSC and then she received a re-do notice from NSC. Then we went to New Orleans ASC where it was computerzied. Calling FBI for the second time for her FP check, I found out that this time FP was sent to TSC.

It seems to me that all manual FP is sent to NSC and the computerzied one to respective centers.

I know my cases has not been transferred to NSC.

Could you throw some light on Nebraska's involvement on FP processing from FBI.

Thanks

Learnt from FBI/ ASC

I learnt it from my local ASC and reconfirmed it from FBI.
Me being from a small part of Arkansas had to do my FP at a police station. FP notice looked normal, and infact came from TSC.
At the time of FP The officer inking my fingers told me that he has to send the papers to Nebraska. I asked why?
his reply was that all the Notices for FP are generated and sent back to Nebraska. They are the centre for this activity.
Later, while checking with FBI, he told me that they have sent it to nebraska for entry in the central computer, And this data will be available for every one in the country.

When I called the FBI and I came to know

that they sent the FP to NSC I asked her why did she sent it to NSC, my case is from TSC. Then she said we send it to where ever the FP comes from. Then I told her my FP was clearly from TSC not NSC.

Now from your post, it seems that actually local police station sends the FP to NSC and not to FBI. I never asked my police department where do they send the FP. But it is likely that they send it NSC and NSC finally sends it FBI in return FBI sends the FBI back to NSC.

BTW, has your online status or AVM updated? When did you do your FP at local police department? In my case it has not been updated neither for me nor for my wife.

OK

I did my FP on Jan 21st of this year.
FBI sent it back to NSC on the 23rd Jan. Then it got it updated in the confusung manner (as it has happenned to several others which gives you a feel that your 485 has got approved). Later on 3rd Feb it changed to , we received FP results and action has resumed.
I called FBI on the 23rd, They had already sent it to NSC.
