Hi,

Can someone please help me in understanding the process, I applied J1 Waiver as 'No Objection Certificate" from home country. I got letter No Objection Letter from Indian Embassy Washington DC on Oct 15th 2006 but Dos Site still showing Pending, please let me know will they change status after getting No Objection Letter from Indian Embassy like received . I am worried,it has been more than two weeks and status is not changed, I called DOS over the phone but it didn't go through.

Thanks

Don't worry

Your case will show pending until you get decision. I got my case decided in 17 days after NOC reception at DOS. Every case is different but I think you are close to a decision. Sometimes it takes more due to security checks. I think calling them is not going to make big difference. Give them their required time of 6-8 weeks. Goodluck.

Thank you so much

You wellcome. I read your post again. It took little more than two weeks to get an update "Received" on DOS webpage after my NOC was sent by my Embassy. Certainly you will see NOC received when you will check your case status online. ;)
