For Interim EAD do we have to go to only the local center

Hi,
I live in new york. I applied for EAD renewal with the receipt date of 10/15/03. My current EAD expires in Feb first week. As all of you folks know it would be easy to get a interim EAD in new jersy than in NY. But since I am living in NY, is it OK to go to Newjersy Local BCIS center to get the Interim EAD

This Forum has reported so far varied experiences. Some say yes: you can go to any local office whiel others say No. It appears a matter of luck and coincidence, subject to who/where/when. You might want to just give a try.
