For Infopass, does one have to be in the TSC region?

My 485 was filed in TSC but I am no longer in the TSC region...

I recently went for Infopass to check on my pending 485 case....and the lady just mentioned to me that since I am not in the Texas Service Center area, she has no access to my information and cannot really tell anything about the case...only TSC would have any info on my case...

Is that true - that for Infopass - you need to be in the TSC region for any information?

USCIS_GC_APPRO,

I understand what you are saying...

e.g If I applied my I-485 in TSC and moved to Vermont and went to USCIS local office in Vermont...would they just say that 'Hey, you are in TSC and hence, I cannot provide you any further information on your I485?'

If that is the case, then one should never move out of the geographical states that you applied your I-485 in!

she just mentioned that I had put in few inquiries and said I could contact TSC for any further info.....

Isn't this crazy? That their systems TSC/CSC/VSC/NSC are not centralized!....
Once you apply in TSC...you better stay in the states that represent TSC region....I am just surprised!

She should be able to see the processing status such as the security checks pending, when it was initiated. But it is true she could not see the details such as what type of the security check. Neither, however, can you know it even if you call the TSC.
