I have a question about my Drivers license from NJ

My driving license is getting over in May 2006. Currently I have a pending 485.
My H1b is expiring Feb 2006 (applied for another one) and EAD expiring in Aug 2006.

Now when DMV gives extension they want to see H1B or EAD. If I show them max they will give is till Nov 2006. (They give 3months from the expiry date).

Now technically as I have 485, I may not need H1B. Let us assume I don’t renew H1B.
Now let us say I don’t renew EAD.

Now my question is as I have pending 485, can I stay in USA as long as I survive with no work?
What I am trying to say, can I show DMV that look I have a pending 485 and the basis of this alone they should give me 4 years extension?

I don't so. DMV is interested in seeing your approval to find that you are legal in this country. I have heard of cases where they don't re-new license if you go with receipt of h1,h4 extensions. they factually are interested in seeing APPROVAL notice, document. h approval or EAD in your case.
