my name check has been pending with VSC for quite some time now ( 1 year ). I read your post and was wondering if you could help me give the format of the letter that ui could send to fbi to expedite it as well the address and if any other instructions are there too.

All you can do is write a straight forward letter to Mr. David Hardy's Office and tell them that your I485 is pending just because of this name check issue and tell them to expedite it and also try to attach the USCIS response and also if you have an FOIPA response along with the letter so that FBI can clear your name quickly.
