Hi,

While i filed my N400 Application i did not specify any name change, but now since my interview is coming, i am having seconds thoughts and would like to change my last name and add a middle initial.

Can i do it during interview? Will it delay my oath significantly. My DO is charleston

Any thoughts appreciated

Yes you can request a name change during the interview. I have read mixed thoughts about the delay this will have for your Oath date. Some say, it will, some say it won't. If you really need to change your name, then I suggest that you do it as part of N400 or else trying to change your name on your own can get quite expensive.

Thanks, Guju. Yeah, i did some research on the forum and it looks like if i want to get it done, then the interview may be the best place to get started on that !!

Doing it before or after can cause some delays and as you said its expensive as well

Yes you can change your name on the interview. After interview you should sign name change petition, (prepared by IO).
