for ALL awaiting Plastic Cards

I saw this today on the USCIS site:
"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"
Has anyone tried this # with any success???

I can't find it in the uscis.gov; maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
Would you please show me the the link.

sorry man...but I just noticed it and thought it might help some of us. Any experience calling this #?
 
I have only called the customer service number to change my address on my I-485 when it was pending. You could give it a try. From what I have been seeing though people from Nebraska Center wait for about 6 months to get the plastic.

Honestly, I jumped the gun...I just replied to my 485 RFE and got to hear back before I get to the "stamp" and "plastic card" stage. Any ideas as to Nebraska Center approval time after RFE response received by them?
 
Mine took 2.5 weeks from when they got the RFE to when it was approved. Others I have seen have taken up to a few months. Hope yours goes as quick as mine did. Also my dependants case was issued an RFE 3 days after my I-485 was approved. Now we wait until we get it and hopefully we can both get our passports stamped soon. I am still waiting for my approval letter to come.
 
I tried, no use

I followed the instruction and thought I might have a chance to talk to some officer. But eventaully it led to the part to read your status which is just the same as what you see online.

Whoever is interested might try again, see if you can talk to somebody and find out something new. Who knows, maybe you are the lucky one.

Thank you for sharing this information with us but unfortunately , that "1-800-375-5283" line is pretty useless, all they can do is read the online message or send an 30-60-XXX-day-wait inquiry for you . :(
