If you are married when the 485 is approved and your spouse's name is not on the 485 application then you can file a FTJ for your spouse. This takes about 10-12 months. He/She would have to go to the local consulate and undergo all the necessary proceedings such as medical, etc.
 
What if you are not married when the I485 is applied , you marry after I485 is applied but pending approval and you would want to add the spouse to your I485 application ?

Is this scenario also called FTJ or some thing else ?

If you have a valid H1 after the 485 is filed, u can get your spouse on a H4 and then file the 485 for him/her. However if your spouse is outside the US when the 485 is approved, then one can do a FTJ implying a CP process for the spouse in his/her country.
